Commissioned by the Flemish Department for the Environment, we are conducting a study into the possibilities and difficulties of neighbourhoods as sustainable and social living environments. In practice, the social dimension in the development process of neighbourhoods often appears to be underexposed.

In order to get a better feel for the social dimension and diversity in living environments, we initiate a dialogue between environment professionals and social sector actors through a collective learning process.

Then we dive into practice via neighbourhood classes where we build a test-bed of promising levers in different types of neighbourhoods.
